The Bristol County Sheriff's Office
is dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the
services we provide, so we are undergoing the evaluation process
to determine the feasibility of becoming fully accredited by the
top accreditation entities in the country.
Accreditation is a voluntary process
that involves a very detailed evaluation of our policies, procedures,
and standards.
We
have gone through the process, and in the words of the auditor,
Craig Dobson:
"We
feel good about what we have seen, what we have read, and the
people we have talked to... they feel safe working in this facility.
There was a reflection of good training that has taken place with
each of them. ...This place is very clean, well cared for and
everybody down to the last inmate feels safe in this facility.
...You passed the mandatories at 100%...and regarding the 399
non-mandatory standards...and the compliance rating, which is
excellent for a first time effort, is 97.2%, and I congratulate
you. Based on that, obviously you've done a great job, you've
got a great team who've performed exceptionally for this accreditation,
and we do appreciate the efforts every one of you made."
"I'm
very impressed with your recreational, your medical records, your
substance abuse programs, your parenting program."
The
Bristol County Sheriff's Office has passed the Accreditation
Audit
and will formally receive notification later this summer.
