Kicks Off Campaign

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas
M. Hodgson launched his re-election campaign Saturday in the center
of Taunton, and he brought dozens of friends to wave signs in the
rain and ask passing truckers to blow their horns.
Hodgson said Taunton Green was
a logical place to start his campaign to win another six-year term
in November, since the Green looked out over the first county jail.
"It's the heart of the county.
It's the county seat," Hodgson said. Hodgson, a Republican, is competing
against Democrat Leo O. Pelletier, a veteran Fall River city councilor
who launched his campaign in January.
